I Was A Teenage Banshee

I Was a Teenage Banshee is a Kunstlerroman by Sue Webster which combines personal memoir with an illustrated survey of her career as an artist as it relates to the continuing influence of punk music on her life and work.

The book documents the Banshees and their place in the music and art scene of the time — positioned alongside visual references to everyone from David Bowie and the Sex Pistols to William Burroughs and Salvadore Dali — and uses the Banshees and punk as an entry point to reflect on the cultural evolution of the last 30 or 40 years.
