The Litten Path

Britain, South Yorkshire, 1984 – each family will divide into their own bitter allegiances – and soon, the country will never be the same.

The Litten Path tells the story of the Newman’s, a mining family from South Yorkshire whose already strained lives become fractured by their entanglement in the miners’ strike of 1984 and a scandal involving the Swarsbys, the family of a Conservative politician who have moved to the area in suspicious circumstances.

Commencing on the eve of the vote to strike and ending in winter of that painful year, The Litten Path is about a clash that changed the political and social landscape of Britain forever.
